In Addition to Bharat - We need to run this command for registration (STARTUP confighostagent SID) for all SIDs before we actually start SUP process by link.

Reason - hostagent needs all SID registered with it and then only we can start STARTUP with the link.
So first register all SIDs you want to upgrade on that one host and then you can start the SUM tool with http link.

Subject: Multiple Sum Installations On the Same Iseries / System i Host Possible?

Hi,

We manage several as400/iseries/system i hosts with more than one SAP system (single instance, central system, some dual stack abap+java, some abap only). All of them will be upgraded using the SUM tool.

Before, we could run several instances of SUM at the same time by using different ports. But now, the SUM has to be registered with the host agent and the hostagent makes most of the decisions about how to run SUM.

Is it still possible to run two SUM instances at the same time and if so, how? And if this is not possible, has anyone tried registering one SUM, running the uptime, registering another SUM, running another uptime, and then register the first one again for the downtime, and then the other one? That way they would not run simultaneously but we could still do two uptimes during the week and two downtimes in the same weekend.

Thanks!

Best regards,
Mischa
