In a standard world production orders are never automatically deleted. The only case in which this might happen is when you work in assembly environment (Prod. order automatically created at sales order creation). Are you in this situation?
In this case when you delete the sales order, the production order is also deleted (if it's not already started). In any case this happens only when you delete the sale order, not when you change it. If that happens after a SO change, it might be that the system deleted the original order and created a new one for the new date. This is unlikely (because I would expect the system to update the original order accordingly, not to delete it and recreate it), but maybe that's what happened. If it wasn't replaced at all and you are not in assembly environment, you might have some custom Exit within your system.

It's not happening to all, just a few, but I don't know where I can make it not automatically delete as well.
Could you advise some idea?
