If you see the settings for transaction type 650 it will be credit transaction type. I.e. it posts only negative depreciation. If you would like to post Positive depreciation then create a ztransaction type by copying ttype 650 and under account assignment you can select it as Debit transaction.
Try posting unplanned depreciation with this newly created ttype and you can see positive depreciation will get posted to Asset.
