Hi,

Solution in KBA
2021681 - Error 1067 starting SAP Service for ERS in MS failover cluster

Cause
One root cause can be the missing files ic*.dll in the local executables folder of the ERS instance (Local drive letter:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\ERS<XX> \exe)

Often this problem has been observed in systems where new kernel 7.2X (EXT) has been installed as explained in SAP notes:

1636252 Installing a 7.20 kernel in SAP Web AS 7.00/7.01/7.10/7.11
2115344 Installation of kernel 722 (EXT)
1713986 Installation of kernel 721 (EXT)

If you apply these notes make sure that all steps in chapter "4.2 OnWindows" -> "MSCS only" are correctly done!

Resolution
Run sapcpe in both nodes of the cluster as follows:

< drive>:
cd \usr\sap\<SAPSID>\<INSTANCE>\work
sapcpe pf=<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\profi le\<instance profile> list:<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe \<uc|nuc>\<platform>\scs.lst

This will copy available ic*.dll from the staging directory

\\SAPGLOBALHOST\sapmnt\<SAPSID>\SYS\exe\(n)uc\ NTAMD64

to the local executables folder of the ERS instance on all nodes of the cluster:

Local drive letter:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\ERS<XX> \exe

Regards,
Bharat

Subject: Enqueue Replication Service after EHP upgrade

We upgraded a clustered system from EHP5 to EHP7, and now the enrepserver.exe which resides on it's own instance will not stay running via the Windows Service. If I check on how the service is running, and run the same command via command line, this stays running just fine. If I start the service in the services, I get error 1067, unexpected error. The windows logs give no indication. There are no log files that I can find that are updated either for this.

The kernel levels for the enrepserver.exe are updated. The profile was not altered during this process from what I can tell.

This is running on a Windows 2008 R2 server.

I did open an incident with SAP, but looking for suggestions as well.
