But, if I had the skills to write that piece of code, I would have done it, and not asked here ... (I know only a little bit of ABAP)

Since my initial question, I totally changed my mind, and now I use the FM 'RS_COMPARE_WORDS_SIMILAR' :

It does not what I was asking for, but it can tell me whether the two words are identical, or very similar, or poorly similar, or different. And it satisfied my need.

Hello ABAP experts!

I'm searching for some ABAP code (or a function module) to highlight the differences between two words.

Missing characters could be displayed for example in red (bold italic here, as there are no colors), and different or additional characters in green (underlined here).

For example, if I compare ABCDEFG and AACEFG the result should be:

ABACDEFG
