Reply from connie_durham on Jun 17 at 10:39 AM Hi TJ, We did this several years ago and it has since been discarded. We set up new classes for the items @ below 8001 MIS- PC Laptops 8002 MIS- PC Desktop 8003 MIS- Projector 8004 MIS-Printer 8005 MIS- Controller/Router 8006 MIS-Switch 8007 MIS-Servers 8008 MIS-Other Peripherals The assets in these classes also begin with the 8 series so that we could isolate them if need be. The assets were added to the AM module based on receipts of the goods. The items were purchased as expense items and charged to the MIS Cost center. As these items were issued to different employees in different parts of the company there was a record made and the actual cost center was charged to the appropriate department. I do not remember how we kept up with this. I think we updated the asset record with the information for the cost center etc. then at month end we ran a report and was able to give finance the entry to transfer the cost. We also created one dep area for the assets. That had a dep key that did not depreciate. I think that is all you need to set it up in your system. I am amazed that there does not seem to be anyone reading / answering our questions anymore. As well as the archive number of questions appear to be dwindling. So sad. Regards, Connie

We purchase a large amount of items that fall below our capitalization threshold such as phones, monitors, etc. The users want to track these items without having to capitalize and depreciate them. Does anyone have any suggestions? | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
