You may want to try the SAP Materials Management forum (I think they've seen it all). I'm a little familiar with losses inside a plant, but your situation may imply dramatically different costing and auditing requirements. There may be a goods movement type from SAP intended for this condition (movement types 557, 558). In theory, you can invent a new movement type (or types) that meets your specific requirements.
Good luck,
Carl

Subject: Stock in Transit loss

Our plant A in one state sent 1000 Kg of material to plant B in another state. The goods dispatched from one state and crossed check posts. During the course of transport all the materials(1000 Kg) were leaked and lost . No material receipt in Plant B Q1.Do we need to take GRN in Plant B and issue to consumption ? Q2. How to account the loss in SAP? Q3. What is the movement type used in this case ? Q4. Do we need to pass stock adjustment entry ?
