Reply from Ron Roberts on Dec 14 at 4:14 PM Look at the period control linked to the depreciation key for this asset. The period control determines how much depreciation is taken when an asset is retired. It sounds like yours is set to take 0 depreciation in year of retirement, so SAP is reversing all current year depreciation and booking a higher NBV loss.

When User simulate the disposal transaction, they notice that only prior years' depreciation/Accumulated Depreciation or intercompany Accumulated Depreciation posted in value adjustment in current year is being posted to gain/loss account instead reversing/debiting to Accumulated Depreciation account and appear warning message "Asset &&& will not be deactivated, it has a net book value" Here is my transaction: Cost of Asset = 136,650 PY/IC Acc Depr = 95,484 CY Depr = 15,436 Net Book Value as of 9/30/2015 = 25,730 SAP Simulation of disposal: CR to (BS) Asset -Machine 136,650 DR to Acc Depr 95,484 DR to Gain(Loss) 41,165 The Acc Depr should be the 95,484 + 15,436 = 110,920. And the gain loss should be $25,730 since I am disposing of the asset as of Sept 30, 2015. However, the system is posting the NBV as of 12/31/2014 to the Gain/Loss Account and for Asset IC transfer Accumulated depreciation is remaining on Asset only as negative NBV. We are approaching to year end close this month end and need your immediate assistance to resolve this issue.
