Question from kasyah on Oct 7 at 9:50 PM
Hi guys,

Hopefully this is a right channel for me to ask a question.

I need assistance / guidance on what I'm supposed to do with my Rev-Trac during a SAP upgrade. Once the Rev-Trac fields have been deactivated in DEV environment, so what's next? Is there something else I need to do with the migration strategy / assign process / etc?

Your step by step guide would be much appreciated.

Thanks and regards.
Sha

Hi Sar,

The best channel to ask questions about Rev-Trac is with the Revelation Software Concepts support desk, as your organisation is likely to be supported.

The steps you are refering to relate to the SAP upgrade of a development system. The instructions can be found at Rev-Trac menu path: Administration > Read me before SAP upgrade

The instructions include details about:
Deactivation of the Rev-Trac field exits
Deactivation of the Rev-Trac BADI
Deactivation of Rev-Trac Key Level Locking (if used at your organisation)

These steps need to be performed to allow for the SPAU and SPDD transports to be generated in background during the SAP upgrade.
If these steps are not taken, Rev-Trac enforcement will attempt to assign the transports to a Rev-Trac request during the process, and as this is occurring in background, there is no possibility for a user to accept or bypass the Rev-Trac enforcement steps.

Once these steps are completed, you can continue with the standard SAP upgrade steps for your development system

NOTE: This procedure is not typically required to be performed, in Non-Development systems.

For further clarification or to find out more information about your support agreement with RSC, please feel free to contact our support desk at: support@xrsc.com

I hope my response has been helpful.

Regards,
Chris Drake
