You can put tools into your Maintenance Bills of Material. The prescribed standard SAP method would be to setup PRTs for them and put them on the Task Lists. But this is too much overhead for many.
If you want just a simple reference, use the BOM Item Category for Text.
There are other options as well. Can you describe more about what you are trying to do?
You want the tools in the BOM so that you (or another person) can...
-know the right tool to be used
-find the right tool when needed
-know that the tools are not overscheduled
-perform maintenance and calibration on the tools
-charge the right cost center/project for the use of the tool
-....
