I know if you do not have the saphost installed when you install a DAA agent on a system, it will install the hostagent. I know to extract on a windows file system, it is sapcar -xvf <filename> from a command line.
If will extract the SAR(CAR) file contents to the directory you are in.

Hi all,
In process of uninstalling the HOSTAGENT from a higher version 205 nd Reinstalling it lower version 181.
after executing the command ./saphostexec -uninstall
the default directory hostcntrl seems to also get deleted by all its content.
Hence i am not able to execute the install part again can you advise further.
