Reply from ChrisO on Jul 15 at 9:44 AM Do you not use Sales Orgs? It would be good to have a Sales Org connected/aligned to a Plant, and then materials assigned to the appropriate Sales Org., as well as Plant. In that way you can control the Sales/Production relationship. You can have an even tighter control of this by having the CSR personnel assigned with access to the materials by authorisation by Sales Org. such that it would be impossible to create a sales order for a material in the wrong Sales Org/Plant. If you need to have the situation where the materials need to exist in both Plants, then you can use Plant Specific Material Status (see eg MRP view of material master) and Distribution Chain Material Status (Sales Org view of MM) to say, respectively, how a material can be procured/planned/made/bought/moved and sold. If it's about control of distribution location then you would be better off having the WM function (Warehiouse Management module) enabled, if you haven't already - I'm suspecting you don't...? However, that's much bigger config. task. Hopethishelps ChrisO

One center is also a production location. We have the issue of our CSRs entering orders against the plant that doesnt produce for parts that need to be built. Our MRP settings are not well understood so currently our planners have to look at both locations and adjust planned orders at the time of creation. We do not want to ship the finished goods to the other location for them to ship to our customers but we do need to see the demand. Does anyone know which setting would work for what we want to do? Can you offer a solution that you have created or developed when dealing with this issue?
