Reply from GaneshSuryanarayanan on May 18 at 1:25 AM Hello Venkat, Thanks for the question, this is one of the questions that gets asked all the time by people who are new to SAP, say SAP FICO. Not that it is a bad question, just that it is a question people ask, because for most this is a question of very large importance, since their careers depend on the shift what they are planning. Coming to your question, let me break it up in 3 points : 1. SAP FICO is one of the primary modules in SAP itself, so it will exist and be part of all companies,as this is a basic application for day 2 day business, FICO will be in Demand! 2. What kind of Demand? will it grow? will it have more overflowing projects? will the salary shoot over the roof?... For most of the questions, the answer is NO. The reason is SAP (FICO) is at a point where it is saturated, so it does grow at a slow pace, saying that you will have job opportunities, but will be limited and be demanded with experience. given the number of people who are available. 3. No matter with the Development of new technologies from SAP itself ( Simple Finance, SAP Hana, and others) FICO will be needed and it will continue to attract consultants, because this is the stepping stone for people to explore and move forward say, like BPC or SAP Hana, this is the foundation that is needed. Do see if you can get yourself a job as SAP Shadow consultant, or working in a support project, or if you can attend training at a institute ( non authorized) for you to get more clarity on this, because end of the day nothing beats Experience in SAP, you learn something new everyday. Happy Learning and welcome to the world of SAP. Thanks Ganesh.S
