Rather, if you create the part as split-valued, you will know how many you have of the part and at what status they are: New, Repairable, or Refurbished. This allows you to have the repairable at zero cost (needs to be fixed)and refurbished (stocked at cost of repair) and new will always be the purchased price. It's complex, but the only way I know of to keep proper track of all.
