Sorry if I misled you...just the label "SAP FICO" is out of style. Same areas are now called "SAP Finance" or "SAP FI", even though it may include CO.
In the USA, the FI and CO roles are usually separate, as consultants and professionals specialize. For example, I have experience in both areas, but I am SAP FI. I do G/L, AR, AP, Asset Accounting, Treasury and some Cost element, cost center, profit center work. I tend to not cover product costing and purchase accounting, as we have people who specialize in those areas.
