Reply from JG-SAPHR on Oct 28 at 6:44 PM Only the users like SAP support persons, system testers etc should get SAP logon id/pw. Others should logon only from the portal.
The employee administration procedures should cover this. The SAP user admin team need to follow these procedures. To get a SAP logon, the employee's manager should provide reasons for his/her role and tasks. Correspondingly the user should have the necessary logon and security profile.

We would like to be able to prevent some of our users from logging into the HR Production system via the SAP GUI and to access their time and attendance, benefits, and travel via the SAP portal only. What is the correct way to accomplish this, we've played with making the SAP UID a communication user and that works, no dialog logon is possible but I'm not sure if this is the correct use of this license type or if there are any licensing issues. |
