There are many options. Some of them are given below.
1. Inform the quality to enter a standard predate in valid from date
(say 01.01.2000) while creating quality plan.
2. In user exit program of GR (MIGO) , a check can be introduced to
verify the availability of quality plan before GR.
3. In user exit program of material master creation, the above check can
be introduced while creating QM view.
4. In PO creation user exit, the above check can be introduced.
Hope the first option will be easy and no programming is required.

Subject: GRN Posting Issue
Hi Experts,
We are getting a strange problem whenever we receive new parts for inspection. Many a times some new parts are created and procured because of design changes. Since we have made it mandatory to route all parts thru quality inspection, in most of the cases QA prepares inspection plan after GR is done. In most of the cases we are getting the error message "Characteristic results cannot posted". In few cases we have resolved this by changing inspection plan creation date to before GR date. But in most of the cases we continue to get this error. However, if go directly to UD, the document gets posted. But I understand this is not the right approach.
Any suggestion/solution to over come this?
