Set the unit of issue in material master plant data storage tab to in
Set the order unit to in in the purchasing view of the material master
You can then order, issue, and receive in the alternate UOM
If you really need to change the base UOM you have to delete all transactions against the material
or you can create a new material with the new base UOM and convert all BOM's to the new material

Hi Expert,
We have a situation whereby we need to change the Unit Of Measurement from FT to Inch in SAP.
SAP trigger error as :-
1) Stock is available in plan
2) Purchase Order have already exits
3) Routing already exist that are assigned to the material.
We try to cancel the existing PO, however fail.
If we proceed to archive BOM and MM for the respective item and re-bridged later.
Are we able to see the correct UOM as per Matrix?
Or any other way, for us to change the UOM in SAP?
