You could use hashed tables to hold the spool. They maintain less information for each entry and they work faster. (I have programs that read over 3.5 million rows. It takes sometime to fill the table but they work fine.)

About having a set of smaller spools, it doesn't depend on me. This is the way with which the customer makes their extractions through document journal transaction.
If I didn't have any other solution, maybe I would have suggest that way. Probably I'm having a good response by the last test, then splitting with the right lines given to the function 'RSPO_RETURN_ABAP_SPOOLJOB'.
