Reply from saproles on Sep 17 at 7:45 AM Hi Grace Srinivas is quite right that you need to engage the business to seek answers to questions regarding : 1. Whether the positions are merely moving to new existing or new org units 2. Is there a need to create new org units 3. Are these positions no longer required 4. Are there employee movements in form of internal transfers and secondments? 5. Are some of these delinited positions chief positions? engaging the business will help in answering most of these questions. Giddy(saproles)

Are they movements across departments in the same company code or across company codes? Has your company organization structure changed and you want to incorporate these changes? Has your employee position descriptions changed or the employees being assigned to completely new positions? Do i need to treat the previous held positions as vacant or obsolete? Do these positions belong to the same departments or they are now reassigned to other departments ( could be existing or new)? Whatever be the reasons, changes over time need to become history in SAP and need to be stored as delimited records. My suggestion is treat this as a mini project and ask your HR business whole lot of questions like i have put forward. You will get answers and start analyzing these answers? You could see gaps . Have a couple of more such meetings to bridge these gaps and then try and map to SAP. Before doing so look at the current state of your SAP HCM system and try and understand what changes would be required and assess the risk . If you have the slightest doubt consultant any senior SAP HCM Consultant who has a good understanding of the OM and PA modules. Wish you all the best.
