All the copy function does is load fields with content from the template. The 'create' function then operates after the fields are loaded, so there's no 'connection' between the data in the newly created material master and how it was entered. Most 'copy-from-template' set ups involve a lot a manual additional changes and additions to the master data being created.

My company uses "template" materials to create specific materials. If a part was used for a specific facility and purchased we would used the reference material set up for that facility to purchase a part. After the part is created is there any way to check what material was used in the copy from field?
