check the consistence the folder
/sapmnt/S30/exe/jvm/linuxx86_64
There must be directories of sapjvm versions there like
sapjvm_4.1.016
sapjvm_4.1.030
sapjvm_4.1.034
sapjvm_4.1.036
Download sapjvm_4.1.016 from swdc and unpack it to
/sapmnt/S30/exe/jvm/linuxx86_64/sapjvm_4.1.016

I am upgrading solman 701 to 7.1 and following error got at the phase JAVA Start.
An error has occurred during the execution of the Start Java step
Could not start SAP instance with number 50. Could not send the command to start the instance with number 50 on host nlsolman. No instance was found in the system instances list with number 50 and host name nlsolman.
