Reply from Paul Byrne on Feb 27 at 3:19 PM Hi Kate, SRM is what is says on the tinIt is for managing Suppliers e.g. where there is a bid for a new Contract, all approved Suppliers are input in the system, contact details, etc. Suppliers are all managed within SRM, when a Purchase Order is raised in ECC it is tracked within SRM where the Approver can see who ordered the goods and or Services, the approver will ask (the person who ordered/received) if the goods or services have been delivered to a satisfactory requirement. This is done via email if the orderer does not have access to SRM. If the orderer has access to SRM then he/she marks goods/services received and the approver marks the the PO approved for payment.Large organisations may have many suppliers which can be very difficult to administer, therefore they use SRM to help with the management of all suppliers. Kate you may remember that SAP bought a company called Ariba a few years ago, they specialise in Catalogues i.e. a number of suppliers may be listed who can supply Paper or Paperclips or Printer ink within the Ariba product all the products are listed and compared by quality or ISO and price enabling the Customer to choose the correct product. SAP intends to integrate Ariba into SAP SRM. So in short SRM is like CRM but for Suppliers where CRM is for Customers. I hope that makes sense? Paul.

Hello soldner, Thanks, but suppliers are vendors. The CRM module is for customers. Are you sure they are the same? | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | In the Spotlight Become a blogger at Toolbox.com and share your expertise with the community.
