If the cost center field is greyed out then this field is for statistical
only.. So you tick the statistical box and then assign this field.

Hope you have created an internal order through tcode-ko01/kot2. After that
if you want to change anything for that internal order, go to tcode-ko02 &
enter the order type that you had created & change the respective fields.
You can change anything in the tcode-ko02 screen. If you still see the cost
center field greyed out in tcode-ko02, then we need to check why the field
is greyed out.
