Hi,
Just try to restart / repair the activation step out of the
Process chain.

If this is working than check with your Basis the batch processes as Simon
suggested and increase the number of batch processes.

If not you have to check the activation log.

There are also a database settings (depending on SQL or Oracle) that starts a service/table space/memory area, I would check these also. It could be that there isn't sufficient memory for a needed internal table to be defined and processed.
