Mr Nagarjuna,

Have you ever attended any SAP course?

As explained by others already we have 3 boxes.

1. Development box - where the configuration task is done and the Transport
for the configuration changes made is moved to Quality.
2. Quality Box - where we test the Changes we configured. and all
types of testing will be done in this Box.
3. Production Box - and once we are sure that the changes we made are
good and tested successfully in Quality, then we move the Transport to
Production Box, where end users use in REAL time.

Now to log into any box you have to log into them using SAP logon launch
pad where the server details are given for you and a login ID and password
will be given to you by the SAP basis team.

So irrespective of whether it is a config change or a Master data we have
to initally setup in DEV from there we move it to QA and PRD.

And all the companies will have a SANDBOX client in which you can play
around if you are not exactly sure of what you are configuring, i.e., test
it in this sandbox and once you are sure you can go ahead and do the same
in DEV.

In real time the SAP Basis team will be moving the transports.

Hope it helps you.

Jay.

Subject: Test to Real System

Hi,

Let me keep it simple for you.
1.) Configurations are carried out in DEV Server then transported to QA
Server.
2.) If a sand box is present then copy the requests to the sand box
client using SCC4 tnx code.
3.) If everything is fine then transport the requests to PRD frm DEV
server.
4.) If an issue arises from the Client then u need to check either in
the sand box/ QA then carryout
necessary corrections in DEV [ Cycle starts again from sno 1 ]

Point to remember: QA and PRD needs to be in sink in respect to
configuration.

Coming to your Qn: DEV, QA & PRD servers have different logs in the SAP
Logon pad from this u can know where u r logging.
And requests are always transported from DEV to QA and DEV to PRD.

Regards,
