MPN functionality is purposely used if you wish to populate MPN in your purchasing documents such as RFQ or PO and manage your sources of supply using MPN instead of your internal material ID. In most companies I have been working with, MPN feature is always activated if you are dealing with trading companies or original manufacturers for the supply of spare parts and consumables.

We maintain buses for public transportation. We use SAP to manage and procure inventory for parts for buses. Our parts or materials are tied to 1 or more manufacturers. Is it adviseable to us MP01(AMPL) to maintain our manufacturer information? Or is this overkilling it? How do you suggest we maintain our manufacturer information that are tied to our parts (materials)? |
