Based on period control method system will identify the value date for
deprecation calculation in case of sale, transfer, Scrap.
Also you can check the fields if you go to T.Code-AFAMP.

Period control method determines the starting of depreciation. It is based on date of transaction and it has impact on depreciation calculation.
Let's make some example for method At the start of the year:
1) when you capitalize an asset during the year, the depreciation is calculated as you capitalized at the beginning of the year (whole annual depreciation)
2) when you discrap of sell an asset during the year, the operation is considerated as made at the beginning of the year (depreciation already posted is reversed) so annual depreciation is = 0
Let's make some example for method At the start of the month:
1) when you capitalize an asset during the month, the depreciation is calculated starting from current month
2) when you discrap of sell an asset during the month, the operation is considerated as made at the beginning of the month (no depreciation is reversed, but current month is not considered for depreciation).
