Hi Farhan

Asset value date can be input by the user not only during retirement but
also during acquisition. The value date during acquisition helps in
capitalization and depreciation start whereas the value date furnished
during asset retirement helps in stoppage of depreciation and possibly in
the deactivation of the asset ( in case of complete retirement).

Subject: Depreciation Start Date

Hi Niranjan,

Let me explain the difference between Asset Value date & Capitalized date
in brief.

Say company has purchased an asset on 01.01.2012. Today the company is
going to sell the particular asset on 08.01.2012 for that company will
valuate the asset as on today. Now 01.01.2012 is the asset capitalized date and
08.01.2012 is the asset value date.

System uses capitalize date to calculate depreciation.

Regards,
Farhan
