Hi, When you run a report, some of the parameters in the report could be constant and reusable at regular intervals (for example, you could always run vendor open items report on a weekly basis for company codes AB10, AB11, AB12 and AB13 for vendors 001 to 100 ). The vendor range and the company code remain the same in your report each week, is it not ? You could save them as a *report variant* and then run the open item report with your variant. The report variant would contain the vendor range and company code range parameters. This saves you time and prevents the occurrence of errors. However, you can see that the vendor range 001 to 100 can apply to vendor related reports only whereas the company code range AB10 to AB14 can be applicable to any other report as well (example vendor open items report, Customer Open items report , Asset Master record reporting etc.). Such parameters which can be shared across multiple kinds of reports can be stored as *Selection variable(TVARV)* for *reports*. Selection variables can be Date related (Dynamic date related, represented by D) and others (represented by T). Regards, VidhyaDhar

I'm confused because for what I know, these tables are for selection variants. The error I'm getting is specifically for asset reports. Please advise.
