Follow the partner determination process steps:
1). Create your Partner Function
2). Create Partner Determination Procedure (PDP).
3). Assign Partner function to PDP.
4). Assign PDP to A/c group.
5). Then A/c Group with Function Assignment (Most Important in your case).
This will give you the desired result.
