No, it does not since for the function OUTAL, the input has to come from the ALP table only and OUTALPLANS should be a numeric value . That is why when your attendance exists, it is being read through function P2002 and that stores a value in the ALP which is further processed. When an attendance is not there then you land up with an error. Just try and put an operation LEAVE in the portions of the rule *,**,***,****,***** and ****** try . Maybe it may work but i have my doubts since it is not recognizing any existence of a rule. Sriinivas
