One possible way is to create a time schedule, create a recurring entry (
reference document) and do periodic reversal using the recurring entry
program. This expenses out the Asset / Revenues in the liability in the
balance sheet by transferring the same to the profit and loss account on
pro-rated basis.

I've always asked my clients to use the recurring entry route. Use FBD1 and then run the batch each month.
