Actually, you there are two auto complete options: one that Works automatically for ABAP statements, and one that works for Variable names. This last one must be activated in the editor options via the yellow button on the right bottom of your screen. => code completion / suggest non-keywords from the text.

This feature is already enabled if you are using ECC 6.0.
You don't have to do any settings.
