Hi Kumar,
This portal is viewed by SAP consultants world-over and some problems like this are specific to certain countries (only!!!). Please give as much information as possible, so that everyone can understand the problem, as nobody can understand your problem fully just by going through few lines of text, nor can be understood by speaking to you or viewing the screen, as we are all remotely placed.
Assuming that this problem could be one of scenario in India:
Try this solution: Please check your chapter id for that material in transaction J1iD and check the details of the chapter id and its unit of measure.
Sometimes the material Base unit of measure and Chapter id unit of measure does not match this problem will occur, though it is not mandatory that unit of measure is a required field for chapter id, once maintained this gives problem for all the such materials which are different from this unit.
To solve this problem for this material or materials of this unit of measure, you need to maintain alternate unit of measure in the material master ( additional data)
If you want to get rid of this error message for all materials which uses this chapter id, you can delete the unit of measure in chapter id ( detail -tab) unless other wise you are using the excise calculation based on quantities ( not the price %).
Please ask for more details if this is the kind of problem you are facing.
