Hi Peter,
The way the SAP parameters work are.
Most parameters have default values built in the Kernel
Parameters in the DEFAULT profile will be universal on the SAP system, while parameters in the Instance profile will only impact the specific Application Server.
Parameter values in the Instance profile superceed values in the DEFAULT profile and Kernel. Parameter values in the DEFAULT profile will superceed the values in the Kernel.

Subject: Change SAP parameter

Hi Gurus,

I'm using SAP ECC 6.0, ORACLE 10.2.0, HPUX B.11.23.

Recently, my production system had some issues whereby the system was unable to perform any updates and process any transactions. I was having a lot of problems and complaints from users.

Upon discussion with SAP, I was suggested to change below parameter in my instance profile, then restart the SAP system.

Affected parameter:
rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS 32768 -> 65536

I was also suggested to increase this parameter: em/initial_size_MB in CI.

However, my questions are:
1) How do I change this parameter: isp/ROLL_MAXFS ? I'm able to check it using RZ11 (only display mode), but how to change it?

2) Same for parameter: em/initial_size_MB, how can I change its value? Is there any recommended size?

For the above points, any SAP notes to support it? or any other relevant documents?

Would appreciate for any of your help and advice.

Thank you.

- Peter
