Hi Katherine, The substitution would work only if the required fields screen on screen are filled-in with valid data. Since the cost center is a required field some whatever GL Account, this account must be created a Primary Cost Element in CO, which will make a CO Account Assignment (Cost Center, Order, SDI, Network, etc.) mandatory. If the company in question uses multiple account assignment, then your options would be to make cost center field optional and add a validation (OB28 Line Item) to validate that this value is filled-in. The substitution will trigger for your scenario when cost center field is empty (and optional). For other scenarios, since there is no substitution, validation will trigger and issue error/warning message. Rest assured, the system would not proceed without a valid CO Account Assignment since it is a Cost Element. Hope this helps. KK

I still get a hard error in F-28 saying I must enter a cost center. Is it be cause it is required field and it does not input the substitution rule until after I hit post? Can someone please advise what i am doing wrong or what is happening. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
