Hello Snowy,

Can you tell me the rationale why you chose 16000 as the value for my PHYS_MEMSIZE?

Also, is there any specific sap note that I can follow for the performance tuning of ECC 6.0 dual stack?

Thank you all for your prompt responses.

Regards,

Cha Cha

Subject: Performance tuning for SAP IDES ECC 6.0

Hello all,

In the past, my IDES System starts to slow down when 50 or more ABAP users start to use the system. so we have recently upgraded the memory of our server where our SAP IDES resides from 16GB to 32GB.

I've stumbled upon SAP NOTE 88416 - Zero Administration Memory Management and I was wondering how to follow and implement this SAP Note into my system.

Do I need to enter all zero memory management parameters in instance profile or is it enough if i change the value of PHYS_MEMSIZE to 32GB? and by doing this, will the other zero admin. parameters be automatically changed as well? please clarify. I am new to performance tuning so I am still feeling my way in.

And also, regarding the buffers, is there any general rule to changing their values and what the value should be for optimum performance?

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Cha Cha
