Hello Vin,

You will need CCMS agent(s) on this host to make use of the (local) Central Monitoring Computer System (CCMS).
If you want to use CCMS locally, you do not have to make it the central monitoring system (CEN). If you - e.g. later - want to monitor your entire system landscape centrally, it is recommended to make one CCMS your CEN, e.g. the one of the SAP Solution Manager (if available). But this is not mandatory, it depends on your use case and requirement.

With best regards
Robin

Hi,

I'm configuring ccms auto mail alerts in an IDES 4.6c system.
Is it mandatory to install a ccms agent on this system?
is it mandatory to make it CEN server though no other server will be monitored under it?

Thanks.
