As I suggested you should check this out with the SAP Globalization team. They are best placed to give an answer.

Hi David,

Thanks for your help.
Due to the project period limit, I think we can just finish the upgrade and the system will go live. If we delay the unicode conversion, is there any unexpect issues we will meet (e.g. translation problems or something else) about the nonunicode MDMP mode in new ECC6 during this time?
