Hi Lucky,
I have had extensive work with BASIS/Security folks and I still will advice you to post this in the security forum. Even if we tell you what to do is not straight forward: It could be activity group missing or user error (especially the fact that you said they displayed line P&L items before and the fact that such changes are made in the DEV environment and moved through the landscape to Production). Security guys will sometimes run a trace to catch the issue.
Do you have BASIS/Security roles yourself? In that case let the user execute FBL1N and then you do a trace.

hi Dammah,
You are right that all users have authorization to use SU53, I later got to know this.In addition, these said two users could display line items for the p&l accounts in the past and only a week ago that the problem started.Again,in the role tab of the user maintenance,they still have the authorization to display line items.I want someone to be precised as to what to do to address the problem.Thanks in advance.

Hi Lucky,
One question: You said the users do not have SU53 so how did you run the SU53 from your computer? Or did you give the users access to SU53? SU53 must be run by the user's own ID logged on. By the way, all users are supposed to have access to SU53 for issues as this.
Your best bet is to work with security folks in your organization? Only the security people will have authorization to add any missing authorization objects for the said users unless you have that authorization and understand the process. My experience is the security guys will need the actual SU53 screen or run a trace with the users.

I have used tcode SU53 for authorization check for the said users and the following is the result:
Authorization check failed.
Object Class CO controlling
Authorization obj.K_CCA CO-CCA:Gen. Authorization object for cost center accounting
Authorization field co_action actions for co-om Authorization check
Authorization field KSTAR cost element 3028
Authorization field RESPAREA co-om Reponsibility Area. 0000710004

Other users can display line items for all accounts and these said two users can equally display line items for balance sheet accounts but not p&l accounts.Ruma, the two users have no authorization for transaction code SU53.Can I solve the problem from my own system as I have access for SU01 -user maintenace.In the role tab of the user maintenance,the two users have authorization for line item display.I have solved line item not displaying problem for a gl account before in another company where i blocked the gl for posting and ran this program -RFSEPA01 and after which i unblocked the account and everything went fine.please I need you to help out!

Are other users able to display the line items for the P&L Accounts ?
In case the 2 users are getting some message .. then as soon as you get the
message that line item
cannot be displayed.. take the SU53 screen shot.
It is probably due to some authorization check failure ..... some
authorizations are missing for the users.
SU53 would tell you which authorization check failed.
