You cannot simply add a table to a report writer structure. There is much more to it than that. There is usually code involved in making the various data flow through correctly.
I have some old documentation on this, but you should look on OSS to identify what is required to extend report?writer tables and libraries.

Hi Allan,
The requirement has now been changed to Material group level reporting. This still works out to segment reporting. I have done the following:
I added table MARA to the report painter via se16 on table T804E. In my case, I basically assigned the report to the same table that is used for 0FL. My settings in report painter (using one column as an example):
Version 0
Record Type 0
Period 8A-VON From Period 8A-BIS
Material Group 6510
Material Group 9908
Material Group S100
The problem? - I get the following error on attempted generation: Characteristic MATKL cannot be combined with key figures
Message no. GR410
Are you able to give any further pointers?
