Hi Donna and Jagan,

thanks. I definitely need to check all the configurations and also all the z programs n interfaces wherein our previous abapers have hard coded the company code.

but i was wondering if there is any short cut to directly change the personnel area grouping with company code and then i execute an action say
employee org- reassignment and then i have two records i.e previous historical records with old company code and new record after carve out with the new company code. Am not sure if this will work. Because SAP might throw an error stating "company code doesn't belong to previous personnel area"

Cheers,
Dipesh

Subject: SAP-HR - Company carve-out and new company code

> Hi,

> We have three company codes for our 3 group companies on 4.7 SAP HR version. Modules implemented PA,OM, Payroll & little bit of time mgmt like holiday calendar and work schedule. also FI/CO - posting to finance.

But they want a seperate SAP-HR system on a new server which will be managed on their own. they are only replacing the old company code to new company code with the same chart of accounts and locations etc to remain as it is.

Is there a way to change the company code and it will automatically reflect in all the configurations of PA, OM, Payroll etc. Only possible solution i can think of creating a new company code and manually changing all the assignments and then run action for all new employees in the new system with new start date.
