Hi Freedom 1.The employee's status (P0000-STAT2) value tells the system if the empl is active(val 3) or terminated(val 0). This is changed only through PA40 - termination action. It can not be changed in PA30. For transferred employees who are not to be paid in the system, you can change the payroll area to one that is not paid in the system (this is usually 99). 2. Employee does not need to be locked when terminated or transferred. Locking may be necessary under some circumstances, e.g., payroll gets run unnecessarily for an employee who should not be paid. For locking an employee, this may be allowed through suitable profile/s and used for a HR or Payroll manager's position as well as for SAP HR Support staff. Hope this helps. Regards, JG

I have seen that the personal number can be locked. But isnt it possible for anyone to change this when the authorization is available for Pa30 transaction. Can anyone of you please help me know the process which happens in real time. > > Thanks !
