Using LE-TRA allows you to transfer the shipment costs to a freight PO
to pay the vendor. This also allows the shipment costs to be sent to
CO-PA, if you are using that. I'm not sure if that holds true for
freight line items on the order/delivery. On the con side, unless you
are using the TM module, you will most likely have to write a custom
workbench to build shipments, because the standard functionality of
VT01N and VT02N is very cumbersome. You would also have to set up
custom pricing conditions and procedures if you want to separate things
like line haul, fuel and accessorial charges.

Thanks.

Dear experts, we try to start appropriate and accurate freight cost
accounting for a big industrial corporation. Our SAP-consultants suggest
not using shipment documents and shipment cost documents but to
calculate freight costs without LE-TRA fanctionality - so the deliveries
will contain freight items. Please advise pros and cons of refusing
LE-TRA functionality and highlight potential risks/problems we might
face? Thank you
