I am not positive what the requirement is as I have inherited the current configuration. But the Configuration Help for Standard Purchasing Org does state:
"Assign standard purchasing organization to plant
If several purchasing organizations procure for a certain plant, you can define one of them as the standard purchasing organization for the transactions "pipeline procurement", "consignment" and "stock transfers".
In source determination for stock transfers and consignment, the system automatically utilizes this standard purchasing organization. In the case of goods issues of pipeline materials, the purchasing info records of the standard purchasing organization are read.
Define your standard purchasing organization."
Our first roll out had a fair amount of interface development around these STOs and I fear someone may have configured this to support an interface so I am reluctant to take it out. I am considering setting up my consignment using the STO Purchase Org. My boss wants it separate so I was looking for alternatives.
Thanks

Hi,
I don't really understand why you have decided to use two different purchasing organizations for STO and consignment for a particular plant. Besides, there is not any such configuration requirement that the standard purchasing organization shall be assigned to the plant in support for STO. What is of your particular business scenario?
Cheers,
HT

> We are working on the 2nd SAP rollout that will include consigned procurement. In our first rollout, we created a Standard Purchasing Org for intercompany STOs and assigned it to all our plants. Now we are testing GR for consignment PO and are receiving the error that the Info Record we created in is not the standard purchase org assigned to our plant. Is it required that STOs and Consignment be in the same Purchase Org (the one assigned to the plant) or are there other ways around this?
