Hi everyone
I am not an expert in Basis or database.
But what I have seen is that Basis keeps the existing Dev for a while even after the upgrade. They will provide an opportunity for the functional and other people to take out or copy whatever they need in the new system.
It is also used to compare the results between the old and the new.
These days using a virtual environment is common and should not be difficult to manage.
