Although I personally had no hand in it, I can confirm that our BI system is setup in the same manner that Abuzar is describing (ABAP & J2EE each have their own SID).

Installing ABAP + JAVA is not recommeded from SAP on same host.
Install ABAP and JAVA on two different Host.
First install BI ABAP and then BI JAVA.
for BI ABAP choose AS ABAP and BI and for BI JAVA choose AS JAVA, EP EPC and BI.
Two separate SID will install for both ABAP and JAVA.
After installation Run template wizard installer to establish connection between ABAP and JAVA.
Standalone Gateway installation is also required for JAVA engine. This is gateway will be used to communicate between ABAP and JAVA.

To install a BI ABAP JAVA,I think I need to choose:
SAP Application Server Java => MAXDB => Central system => Central system
Description:
Installs on one host SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 1 Support Release 1 including software units
Central System:
The installation sets up the following instances on a single host:
- Central services instance (SCS) (only for software units based on AS Java)
- Database instance
- Central instance
The central services instance is the main point of communication and synchronization for the application server instances and consists of the message server and the enqueue server. The SAP system software units AS ABAP and AS Java use their own database schema in the same database. The central instance is the core component of an SAP system and usually provides all SAP system utilities.
You can also have one or more dialog instances. You can find the installation option for dialog instances in Software Life-Cycle Options -> Application Server
If I do this selection, the JAVA and ABAP will be installed ???
or after this installation, I need to install ABAP ...
Can you advise me?
