RE:[sap-log-sd] Copy Header Text to Item Text Object

I understand that the orders are entered in an external system and the data is then interfaced to create the sales orders in R/3. If that is the case, cant you call the fm READ_TEXT in the order creation interface prgm to read the Header Text [entered in the external system] and get the same updated in the line items.....cant think o any stad configuration to address this.
