I do not have much experience with PI 7.1, but you stand a better chance opening a message with SAP over addressing your questions on compatible.
On a sidenote, not sure what you mean by compatible??
I'm assuming this relates to how PI 7.1 connects to R/3 4.7C and SCM 5.0.
So.....What makes you doubtful?
PI 7.0 connects fine with 4.7C and SCM 5.0, though there is some manual work involved in SLD entries for the R/3 4.7C. But apart from that it should be fine. unless, you're talking about any particular XI Content related Compatibilities.
If you could state some specific areas you are doubtful over, let me know and i'll try to see if there's anything i can find on that.
